Go back Our Skruf Stark, Strong Portion ReviewLaunched in 2005 and made by Skruf AB in Sweden, Skruf Stark portion is classified as a regular type portion which means that each portion goes thru a final step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each of them. This added moisture helps the flavors in the snus to marry together and release it faster when it’s in the lip. Skruf uses a bit less moisture in the final step due to the moisture level being higher in the snus its self which can leave the material a bit dryer than most regular type portions but, Skruf uses a soft, teabag type material with their portions and is comfortable in the lip for as long as the flavor lasts which is about 2 hours. Each can of Skruf Stark portion contains 24, one gram portions with each having 14 mg of Nicotine. Skruf Stark’s can is made of the signature white plastic with a clear plastic label and yes, there is a used portion compartment in the lid of the can. It’s under the cap with the Skruf logo embossed on it but, enough about the can, let’s talk about the flavor! Skruf describes the flavor of Skruf Stark as having a pure and mild tobacco flavor containing natural aromas from bergamot and rose oil. The most confusing flavor in Skruf Stark is the Rose Oil. While many of you, that have read some of the other reviews, know that bergamot is a flavor that’s a cross between a lemon and a grapefruit, most of you may not know what Rose Oil tastes like. The rose oil gives Skruf Stark a light herbal flavor and actually adds a slight bit of sweetness to the snus. When it’s combined with the mild tobacco and bergamot flavors, they give Skruf a flowery scent and a mild, herbal flavor with a bit of a sweet taste. While this is what we taste, we want to know what you taste in Skruf Stark portion. Not good - not bad. Does the trick though! The taste is a little "dull" IMHO, but comfortable and lasts a long time. I might buy it again.

 Really helped me out when I was deployed... nice buzz, and just an all around relaxing feeling. I quite smoking in a war zone because of this brand of SNUS.

A really wonderful snus! To me it tastes very similar to a Cohiba Robusto cigar: it has a rich, slightly peppery tobacco flavour, not too much salt, and the nicotine hit is really noticeable. I have tried the Skruf Original White Portion – but the nicotine hit, while perfect with my first espresso of the morning, is a bit too light to make me forget about cigarettes. Skruf Stark Portion, however, really hits the spot, and as, up until now, I was a 30-a-day Marlboro Red smoker, this is huge help to me in kicking my nasty, smelly, dirty, dangerous smoking habit.
A quick word on import duties: the tax and customs duties here in Switzerland were pretty high. On an 80 Swiss Franc order, I paid 68 francs tax/duty/etc. This makes each can about the same price as a packet of cigarettes, but I’m more than happy to pay that to find something just as enjoyable as cigarettes, that I can use at work, on the train, on a plane etc. etc. Just having an antidote to “non-smoking airport aggro’ syndrome” makes snus a real godsend for me  .
p.s. As promised, it took 5 working days for the order to arrive from Sweden.
