Go back Our General Dry Mint, White Mini Portion ReviewIntroduced in 2009 by Swedish Match AB, General Dry White Mini Mint portion snus is classified as a White Mini type portion which means that the portions are half the size of a regular type portion and, do not go thru the additional step at the end of the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to each portion. This leaves the material a bit dry and leaves the color white. Even though the material is dry, Swedish Match uses the same soft material that they use in all their portion snus and is comfortable in the lip for over an hour but, the flavor only lasts for about 45 minutes. Each can of General Mini Mint contains 24 portions that have just less than .4 grams of snus and each portion has 4 mg of Nicotine. General Mini Mint’s can is made of silver metallic plastic and is a bit smaller than a regular can of snus. There is a used portion compartment in the lid as well but, you’re here for the flavors so, let’s take a look! General Dry Mini Mint’s flavor may ring a bell with some seasoned snus users since it’s actually Catch Dry peppermint’s flavor with a new name! To the new snus user, we’ll try to describe the flavor for you. General Mini Mint’s flavor is a cool, peppermint taste. It’s actually a bit sweeter than most Swedish snus and tastes like Starlight mints but not as sweet. There is a slight burn in the lip with Mini Mint but, most mint flavored snus has this characteristic and only lasts for about 20 minutes. As the portion sits in the lip, a subtle earthy tobacco flavor begins to surface and mellows the sweetness out. We’ve had a portion of Mini Mint’s flavor last for about 45 minutes which is pretty good considering it’s only a mini portion but, this is what we think, we want to hear your thoughts! Ex tobacco smoker. I went to Snus to quit smoking and after 9 weeks so far so good. I've only had the Camel stuff available to me so I ordered about a dozen different cans to try out the swedish stuff. Most where disgusting and smelled terrible. A few shined and I thought I was narrowing my favorite down to a few different cans. Until I popped one of these little gems in my lip from the trial pack - WOW!!! extremely surprised. Very nice mint hit. Not to string and not to light. Didn't burn my lip like some say it does. I smoked 2 packs a day for 20 years and the 4mg nic get me past my cravings. I'll be adding a roll or two to my next order I think, that is unless one of the other flavors impresses me from the trial pack.

Long-time General Portion user here. I disliked this one. Slightly bitter, earthy (read: dirt) taste ... NOT enjoyable. Nic hit is low.

I have just got into smokeless tobacco and trying a few different types and flavors.
This stuff Is very comfortable, great smooth mint that will not over power. Of the many I have tried with the tasters I have purchased, I am so glad I got a roll of these. I give it a 10 out of ten. Quite pleasant experience.

I just had my first order of Swedish snus and this was part of the sample pack I ordered. Coming from, and enjoying, the sweetness of Camel Frost, this is the only one in the sample pack I can stomach. The tobacco taste that everyone raves about with the others is just too strong for me. This one, however, is a well balanced mellow mint/tobacco blended taste. I enjoy this one the most of the ones i've had so far.

Right now I love regular white mini portions, but the Dry Mini Mint is just too small for me. To help clear up the question of size, DRY coincides with smaller. The General site states that Mini DRY is smaller, moister, discrete, with an even smaller 0.3g size than a regular Mini which is 0.5g. I will probably buy it again, but I doubt it will make it into my top 3. Taste is top notch.

Quite good, comfortable, dry, would be nice to have an 8mg nic content for the price and portion reduction amount of the can. Great flavor and concealment for public situations.

Excellent mint flavor. Right on the money. Mildly sweet not like the American Camels that are waaaay too sweet. Obviously there is not much nic-hit but gets me through the cravings.

The BEST mini for your buck. The non white minis are way to moist. I think they add the same amount of water and salt in the regular portions and fail to take into account the smaller bag size. If you like flavored snus do your self a favor and get a least one can of this to try out. I got the "general" trial pack which had these lovely little guys in them and have found them to be great. Flavor lasts right at on hour. The only problem i have is they do not have as great of a Nic Hit as the non white mini. on the other hand the non white are often too moist. i prefer these to any other mini i have tried even with the weak hit.

This is a great Snus with excellent flavor - not too "minty" with just the right balance of tobacco flavor. If you are looking a flavored snus this is worth a try. I will definitely be buying more.
