Go back Our Odens Stark Kanel, Strong Portion ReviewReleased in 2009 and made by Gajane, Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel (Cinnamon) portion snus is classified as an Extra Strong, regular type portion. “Extra Strong, Regular type? You guys are confusing us again!” Ok, let me try to explain it a bit. As you all know, regular type portions go thru an additional step in the manufacturing process that adds a bit more moisture to them. This aids in helping the flavors to mix together better and helps to release it faster when it’s in the lip. The Extra Strong classification is used for any snus that has over 14 mg of Nicotine per portion. Oden’s Extra Sterk Kanel portion is both! The portion material that Gajane uses for Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel is the same teabag type material that Gajane uses for all its portions and is comfortable in the lip for about 2 hours. Each can of Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel contains 24, one gram portions with each having a staggering 17 mg of Nicotine! The can that Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel portion comes in is made from black plastic with the Oden’s unique logo embossed in the lid but unfortunately, there is no used portion compartment in it. Now that you know the basics, let’s look at the flavor! Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel’s flavor is pretty unique in the sense that it’s the only Extra Stark portion that is cinnamon flavored. Well, Oden’s regular strength Kanel is another one but Gajane is the only manufacturer to flavor a snus with cinnamon! The cinnamon flavor in Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel is strong but not overpowering. The cinnamon flavor actually mixes with the tobacco flavor to give it a cinnamon taste. Unlike most things flavored with cinnamon where the cinnamon tends to overtake anything it’s mixed with, Gajane uses just the right amount of it to allow you to tell it’s a cinnamon flavored snus while letting you taste the tobacco. There is a burn in the back of the throat though with Oden’s Extra Stark Kanel though. This we attribute to the cinnamon and the large amount of Nicotine in the snus. It’s not there for the entire time, only for the first 45 minutes and it’s really tolerable. While this is what we taste, we want to know what you taste! very interesting snus. Good flavor but not overpowering. Its a bitter sweat flavor tastes like real cinnamon. Good first snus of the day. Nice soft portions feels good in lip doesn't burn. Very powerful nicotine content. I would recommend this snus for a heavy user cause it is very strong. The only thing i don't like is portions are uneven.4/5

Well i ordered the Kanel version of this and they sent me the Original for some reason, and I must say, i didn't care cuz everyone on here gave good reviews, but I don't see why, the taste is alright, the nicotine hit i cant really feel, i have to put three of these in to feel anything, i got more nicotine out of Catch Mint, which i find is kinda sad, i wasn't even a heavy smoker, maybe it just doesn't work for me, but my overall experience with this wasn't all that good.

I don't get much cinnamon from this, far less than I was expecting. The taste is pleasant, with a hint of cinnamon flavor, but nothing spectacular. The nicotine, on the other hand, is intense- on par with Skruf Extra Stark. Since the portions are quite wide, I won't be using this at work, but as an after dinner snus, it might be quite nice.

The tobacco is right up there with the best Sweden and Norway have to offer. The cinnamon is extremely pleasant. The bag is soft, not entirely discrete but more so than General and Jakobssons. The nic level is definitely strong but completely tolerable. Ranks right under Thunder Frosted stark (which is easy to get burned out on) for a quit-smoking-snus. I'm surprised more snus companies aren't manufacturing cinnamon flavors. Their loss.

I've been snusing for 7 months now. I finally got up the courage to try this one. I must say it does pack a punch. Great snus first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee. It is a little bitter at first then the subtle cinnamon and tobacco emerge. I give it four stars.

Just got a can of this. Don't taste any cinnamon at all.
I smoke/d less than a pack a day, ultra lights. This didn't buzz me or anything. Disappointing.

Strong nicotine hit, I like the cinnamon taste that it gives off, I just wish it was a little stronger. The snus stays well enough even though it is very loose inside of the portions due to lack of contents. 4/5 overall.

I am an x-smoker who came to Snus by first trying Camel in the U.S. This Oden's is some rugged stuff! I smoked 2+ packs a day and this leaves me light headed, which sometimes is kind of nice...but nothing I want for daily snusing. I also had some minor throat irritation from the juice (nothing compared to smoking), the subtle "kanel" flavor which is quite nice dies out after about hour, I would like the flavor a little stronger. If your looking for a kick in the head give it a try!

Cinnamon flavor is subtle, not too spicy,very similar to original Oden's, but works well as an after dinner snus. I'm starting to prefer Oden's to Skruf stark as a strong snus, strong tobacco flavor in all varieties, also good if you're weaning yourself from cigarettes.

It's a good snus to have with coffee, but for some reason, it hurts the insides of my gums. Not a burning sensation, but a physical ache inside my mouth. In fact, Oden Kanel may very well be the first snus I've tried that has been literally painful. I like the cinnamon flavor, but the nicotine hit may be too much for a lot of people to handle. Tread with caution.

Pure cinnamon and tobacco flavor. It's rather subtle, and not sweetened at all. Honestly though, the nicotine hit gets to be a bit much after a few minutes and the cinnamon flavor gets pretty nasty and bitter after a while. It's definitely not one of the best out there, but I may give the original Odens a shot.

Very coarse snus, witch is nice since they're hard to find. Nice subtle cinnamon flavour. It's almost like a "Grov" with cinnamon.

I tried this for the first time on my last order. I really enjoy this product. I was actually amazed at the cinnamon flavor. It is subtle, but that's all you need.
I agree that the portions are loose but that allows room to conform in your lip. A way to better hide the snus especially when you are in a long meeting.

When it comes to Extra Stark's this is among my favorites. Sure it doesn't really taste like cinnamon all that much, but it still is a pleasurable snus.

Doesn't burn considering the strength. The cinnamon doesn't hit you in the face, and neither does the nicotine. I actually found it kind of unremarkable, but it's not bad. The can's pretty rockin' though.

A good heavy meal/bottle of beer snus. Has a very heavy tobbacco taste, with just a hint of sweetness added to it. It's much like mixing cinnamon inside hamburger patties - sweet yes, but you're still eating a burger. Nice nic hit though. 3/5 for me, based on a lack of cin flavor.

I had more hope for this variety than what it was able to deliver. At first, my tastebuds didn't agree with the cinnamon claim. It took another to really adjust and then I started to get the cinnamon but this flavor doesn't last too long.

I Agree with Phillip about his review in all, although I give it a higher end result.
This snus is a bit on the loose side in each bag, it doesn't worry me as such but may not "feel right" under the lip if you are used to normal or bigger bad sizes. It appears to me that it may be a good step up for the mini bag consumer if they feel those mini bags have become too small. Just maybe, that is the intent by the producer.. to capture both markets with one product size? I was positively surprised about the quality of the cinnamon. I expected an overpowering sugary cinnamon taste but was pleasantly met by a slightly sour, dusty cinnamon taste. Not at all overpowering and although, this is high in nicotine, doesn't leave the lip with a burning sensation like some of the other extra proof strength snus's out there. In all, this one just barely scrape in on 4 stars..being a bit generous with an extra half star.... could have been a 4.5 star one to me if it had been packed with a bit more tobacco/filling in each bag. Slightly sour. Subtle cinnamon. Not sweet.
Portions are a bit loose. not a lot of snus in there, which worries me because of the high nic content. Overall a great idea, just a couple tweaks and this is one great snus.
