I tried this one lately as a bonus-offer to my regular order and don't like it. Does not go as an alternative to General in any way. I consider it too sweet and somehow too mild, as I prefer a strong tobacco taste.
And there is a weird mealy (I don't find another word..) layer on the pouches. The nic-hit is solid though. 2 of 5.

The best alternative to general strong if you live in the EU, where general won't ship!
It quite strong, whilst not coming in vulgar/agressive tin, so is ok to have in public and with ladies about

Not bad. Similar to General Extra Strong, but not the same. A pleasant snus to stick in the mouth at any time of day. As with most of the Jakobsson's range, it's worth a try.

In my quest to find a Snus that has a tobacco flavor, this is the best I have found, so far. Tastes like they added several flavors trying to mimic tobacco flavor and came fairly close. Not too bitter and not overly sweet.
However, I am still looking for a Snus that tastes like real tobacco.

I'm suprised they call this a "classic" snus as it is very sweet and not in a nice way. One of the worst tasting snuses I've tried, good thing I only bought 2 tins. It shouldn't really be called a strong snus either. The quality of the pouches and can are good so I might try other Jakobsson flavours, but this was not for me.

I've never spit out a Swedish snus faster than when I tried Marlboro original until I tried this one... VERY SWEET flavor which tastes almost like honey but it's offensive. If you like "regular" flavored snus, this is NOT one of them. Don't let the name "classic" fool you, this is a heavily-flavored, sickly-sweet snus.
If you like sweet (but non-mint) snus, you might enjoy this. If you're more of a Ettan/Grov/N&J/General type of snuser, definitely pass on this one.

I'm still trying to find my "go to" tins. I've tried about 15 different snuses and right now this is one of the three or 4 I keep finding myself turning to. The others are Jak's mint and N&J portion. My first impression of this Jak's classic strong was that it was rather bland. That changed on about the third portion I tried of it. For me, it is a sweet tobacco flavor with no chemical taste. Underlying the main flavor is a tiny hint of citrus, some floral notes, and a very mild saltiness. This is the perfect snus to have coffee with. As for the nic content, it feels like it's around 10. It's definitley higher than an 8mg but not as high a lot of strongs at least this is how I experience it. I will definitley order more of this. If you like a bit of sweetness to your snus, give this a try.

iv been sampling alot of flavors from alot of the top rated brands on here and this is my go-to tin. i guess my pallet isn't refined enough because i don't taste anything but tobacco and it's damn good.
to its strength: i went from a pack a day to one of these in the lip with a drink and i was forced to sit down lol. Try this one.

Jakobssons is by far the best portion snus on the market. I've tried all of them my favorite is mint. But here or my thoughts on the classic. Great mild tobacco flavor. Pepper and citrus all the way. Flavor lasts as long as you have it in. Not as strong as the mint. in fact all of Jakobssons is not really strong with mint being the exception. Little to no drip. As always super soft fluffy pouches. 4 out of 5 stars.

If it contains tobacco, American bureaucrats require a warning label. Never mind that Swedish snus contains only trace amounts of TSNA's. It doesn't matter. Tobacco = bad. End of argument. Never mind that they could launch their own study while totally dismissing 30 years of Swedish research. The scientists would be instructed NOT to come back with results indicating that Swedisg snus is harmless. THAT would only prove the fallacy of a 50-year campaign against tobacco, and expose them for the idiots that they are, not to mention the money. Remember, it's all about the money (and power). They are unwilling to accept the concept of diminished risk (compared to smoking).

The warning labels are on the can because the American Government says they have to. I am quite partial to the classic flavor as well with the mint. It has a good, strong flavor that is not overpowering. It is just right. It is among one of the best portion snus I have tried thus far. Good job!

Not the worst snus I've ever had, but nothing to write home about either. If your palette is a bit sweeter than mine, you might like it, but I found it a little too zesty. Although the nicotine hit and the quality of the portions are up to their usual high standard, this is probably my least favourite snus of the Jakobssons range. Your results may vary... I'd recommend trying it at least once.

Great snus, a little bit peppery and citrus. It's very similar to the General. It's strong, too. Buy it and taste it!!

This is the only can of snus I've seen so far with a warning label indicating that this snus causes mouth disease. Perhaps its a precautionary measure; perhaps they are adding funky sh*t to increase nic absorption.
Either way, I think I will be buying more of this.

very good snus, i love all jakobssons products some of the best snus around. Good nicotine hit. Nice mild tobacco flavor with a hint of lemon. very enjoyable. long lasting flavor. This is the best straight portion i've had so far a must try. You cant go wrong with jakobssons all the flavors are very good. 5/5

I disagree with other posts. This was too sweet and not that strong. Similar to a cheaper brand - Off Road - with sweet floral potpourri notes. In fact it tastes a lot like american Camel Snus. I would buy this before Camel but not if I could get something like Granit Strong or General Extra Sterk.

Has kinda a wheat/grain flavor. A little honeyed, a little golden-tinged. Somewhat like Cinnamon Life cereal or Grape Nuts. Good for after a meal. And plenty strong. I prefer the Wintergreen offerings from Jakobsson's.

This is VERY good snus! Spicy with a great lemon zest. I'm impressed. I'm not sure that this should be categorized as "Strong"; it's not as strong as Skruf or Nick and Johnny. However, the blend of tobacco and spices is extremely tasty. I will order this again, definitely. Much better than General original. Nice, fluffy pouches with a fine aroma in the package. Well done!

I'm not a huge fan of the sterks but this one is quite nice. The initial throat burn from the salt and nicotine subsides quickly, and after awhile some nice sweet notes come in. I think this would be well-suited to someone accustomed to American portion snus who would like to transition to real Swedish snus, but also wishes to have a higher nicotine hit than a regular Swedish portion.
